Each profile on the VKontakte social network has an individual number, which is located in the URL field. The number begins with the characters id, followed by the corresponding identifier. And yet, it is believed that one page is enough for one person, so they do not welcome the simultaneous use of both the new and old pages. Therefore, it is better to remove one of them.

Restoring access to personal data

In some cases, finding your own profile is much more difficult. This is due to the fact that the personal account has become the property of scammers. If access is lost, then it costs the scoundrels nothing to change the link, as presented in the paragraph above. In these cases, it is necessary to regain control over personal data.
To complete the assigned tasks, you need to have a phone to which your account is linked. This is the only way you can guarantee access to personal information. So you should:
- Go to the official VKontakte website, having first cleared the cache and also scanned your computer for viruses.
- Next to the field for entering personal data there is a “Forgot your password?” button.
- Go to the section, enter the necessary information for recovery.
- An SMS message arrives on your phone, and then fields for changing your password appear.

How to access the old page without leaving the new one
You can use Incognito mode in your browser if you only need the old page occasionally. For example, if you have Chrome, open the browser menu and select “New window in incognito mode.” A window will open in which you seem to have not yet entered any page. Enter the address vhod.ru and use the “Login” button to enter the old page.
You can also install two different browsers - for example, Chrome and Firefox - and in one of them sit on one page, and in the other on another. This is more convenient if you want to constantly use different pages.
If the page has been deleted
The VKontakte service gives the owner time to restore the profile - 210 days from the date of deletion. If the deadline has not passed, it is easy to return the account.
1. Go to vk.com and log in.
2. Your remote profile will open. Click on the “Restore your page” item.
Then click the "Restore Page" button.
You may need to verify your phone number or attached email address.
That's all - the account, along with all the information, photos and correspondence, is active.
If the old page was linked to the same number
Important: if you registered a new VK page on the same phone number as the old one, then now the old page is no longer linked to this number. You may think that now both pages are on the same number, but this is not so. Only one page can be linked to one number, and the number was unlinked from the old page when you created a new one. You just didn’t pay attention to what the site was telling you.

Each person is allowed to create only one page on VK, and if you lose access, you need to restore it, and not create a new page (and at the same time new problems).
And my old page and new one are tied to the same phone number!
There is a difference between login and linking a phone. Two pages can be registered to the same number (that is, have the same login), but both cannot be linked to the same number. When you linked a new page to your phone, the old one immediately unlinked from it. Like this! Now you won’t be able to restore access to it by phone, and you’ll have to use other methods. Restoring access to your VK account if your login information is lost
If you only don’t know the login password, but you have the phone number that is listed as your login, you can easily return the page. To do this, in the login form you need to click the appropriate link and follow the prompts. But we will talk about another case when the phone number is not available.
To try to restore the page, you will also need to click on the “Forgot your password” link in the login form:

Enter in the form: new mobile phone, phone to which the page is linked, old profile password. If possible, enter everything. A new phone number can be entered if a new VKontakte page has not yet been linked to it;
Enter your new and old phones, as well as the password from the old page
- Click below in the form - “Submit an application”;
- If you are unable to enter any details other than your new mobile phone, you will be provided with a new, more extensive data entry form. Follow the link after clicking the “Submit Application” button;
- If you opened the extended form, you will need to upload an image that was taken against the background of this screensaver on your computer. In this case, the photo must be of good quality.
The VKontakte administration will be able to unblock your page only if your photo is used as an avatar on your old account. In this case, they will be verified and you will receive an answer to the specified phone number.
Adding information to your VKontakte page
So, you have decided to add information to your newly created VKontakte page. To do this, click on the small triangle in the upper right corner, next to your name. A menu will appear in which click Edit.
On the page that opens, on the right, find the section that you want to edit. For example, I selected the Education section. In the window that appears, we will see 2 tabs: 1) Secondary and additional education, 2) Higher education.
Search classmates
So that your classmates can find you, and you can find them too, indicate the school where you studied. To do this, first, from the list, select the Country in which you studied, then the city. If the city is not in the list, then enter its name.
A list of schools in your hometown will appear. Find your School. Then select Year of Issue. If you had several parallel classes, then indicate the class (a, b, c).
After filling out the form, click Save.
Search for classmates
In order for classmates to find you, indicate the university where you studied.
To do this, select the Higher Education tab
Select Country and then City where you studied. A list of universities will open. Choose your university.
A list of faculties at your university will appear - select your Faculty. Then the Department.
When all fields are filled in, click Save.
Finding friends on other social networks
At this step, you can add friends from other popular social networks.
On subsequent visits, you can update the information, change the page design, and do not forget to periodically change the password for your account.
How to unfreeze a VK page? Password recovery via SMS
If, when entering your page, you get a message that the page is frozen and you need to unfreeze it, then click on the message SEND CODE. You will receive a free SMS with a code, you need to enter it in the box and then come up with a new strong password.
Or, you can restore access to your page through the RESTORING ACCESS TO PAGE window.
In the column where you are asked to enter your data (login, email or phone), enter your phone number. You may also be asked for your first and last name listed on the page. This is done for security reasons.
Next, the page will show the user’s avatar, his first and last name. If this is you, acknowledge it. You will receive a free SMS with a recovery code on your phone. This is not a password, but a recovery code that must be entered on the page.
After this, you will be asked to enter a new password for your VK page, enter it 2 times in a row.
When you enter your password and change it, you will receive an SMS indicating that you have changed the password, the password itself and the login for your VK page. Now your VK page has been restored and you can log into it with a new password and use it.

Why was my VKontakte page frozen and what does it mean?
There are many reasons why your page may be frozen (this means that the administration of the VKontakte website has temporarily limited your access to your page for some reason).
You need to read the following note if you don’t know what my VKontakte page is.
Your page may have been blocked by the administration of the social network VKontakte. This is a necessary measure, for example, to stop attackers who hacked your page by guessing your username and password (how to choose a strong password?) to log in and send spam on your behalf, or en masse join various groups.
If your page was frozen for the first time, then you can unfreeze (restore access to the page) the page almost immediately. You will need to request a password for your phone number, you will receive an SMS code (SMS is free), when you enter the code, you will need to come up with your new password for your personal page.
With each freeze, the time for freezing your page increases, and if part of your page is frozen, it may take a week or even a month to unfreeze, and with repeated violations, your VKontakte page may even be blocked by the site administration forever.
How to restore access to a VK page without a phone?
Perhaps you lost your phone along with your SIM card, or you simply changed your phone number but have no access to the old one, then you need to do the following.
As I wrote above, you can click on the inscription at the bottom of the RESTORING ACCESS TO PAGE window.
If you do not remember the data or do not have access to the phone, click on the inscription CLICK HERE (I showed it with an arrow in the picture below).
Click on these words CLICK HERE and you will be taken to a request to restore access. Fill in all the information you remember as accurately as possible; if you don’t remember something, leave the field blank. When you fill in your details, click SEND APPLICATION. Everything has been done correctly, now your request will be reviewed by the support service, and you just need to wait for a response to your email.

How long does it take to recover a password on VK?
VKontakte does not have clear regulations for the recovery period; pages may be unclaimed for a year or more. But it’s better to check them periodically, and if you don’t have access, use the tips on how to restore a page on VK if you forgot your password.
Password recovery if the number of requests has been exceeded
If you forgot your password in a contact, the site will close the ability to log into the page for a day after a certain number of requests. To bypass the ban, turn on your VPN and change your IP. If after a day the possibility of recovery does not appear, you need to write to technical support.
What to do if the code does not arrive?
It happens that you need to wait about 1 hour for the code, so don’t panic ahead of time. But while you wait, check the information:
- Is the number indicated for receiving SMS;
- turn your phone on and off;
- insert sim into another device;

What to do if it says “Not available for this user”
This message often appears from a smartphone. Mobile versions of the application have limited functionality and do not have some options. Go to your laptop or personal computer and try to restore access again.

What to do if "Request limit exceeded"
As a protection against attackers who select passwords for other people's pages, a restriction was introduced on receiving SMS per day. If all attempts have been used, wait 24 hours or try logging into VK via the resume access link in your email.

This means that login confirmation by phone number is enabled, so it cannot be found out via SMS. Two-factor verification limits hacking, but for it you need to know both your login and password. Remember, otherwise you won’t be able to enter.
What to do if the wrong page is restored
This happens if two or more pages are created for one issue. It turns out that each of them has the same login, but when you create the second one, the phone is automatically unlinked from the first one. Therefore, the first one can be restored only through mail or other methods where a number is not needed, and the second one can be restored by any of the proposed options, including an SMS code.
How to link a VK page to a new phone number
If you changed your main number, go to the “Settings” menu and click on the “Change phone” button. You are automatically given 14 days to save the information; you must wait 2 weeks for the changes to take effect. During this time, you can return your old number.
Why the page is blocked, what to do
This situation occurs if an attempt was made to hack access to the page or it was used to send spam. You could also be complained about, for example, for trading or other actions prohibited on the site.
Enter your username and password, log in to the site and click on “Restore access”. If it was simply frozen by the VK administration, following all the instructions, you will quickly restore access.
