What is the history of VKontakte

VKontakte Stories is a feature borrowed from the Instagram messenger. It consists of photographs or short videos that are displayed in the news feed header of everyone who is subscribed or friends with the user who added the story. In this way, people share their impressions in a conversational form, or by filming something they think is interesting. Often, through VKontakte History, popular communities or user pages convey to the general public any upcoming events.

An active story is visible on the news page in the form of a round icon, by clicking on which you can watch a video or photo lasting 12 seconds. A new story has a blue highlight; a viewed story loses it.

How to view your browsing history

Let's figure out how to view your browsing history in VK. We are talking about how many times, at what time and from what devices you logged into your page. This feature can be useful if you suspect that someone other than you has access to your account and that “someone” is using your profile to surf anonymously. You can easily figure out whether someone visited VKontakte from your page and, if necessary, change your password to prevent this in the future. Unfortunately, the developers did not provide such an opportunity to view your VK browsing history on your phone, but you can always do this using a PC.

So, to view your activity history from your computer:

go to your page;
in the upper right corner, click on your name and select “Settings”;

go to the “Security” tab;

Click the "Show activity history" link.

Now you can see a list of devices from which you logged into your account in chronological order. The following will be noted here: date, time, device, browser used, country and IP address. If you use additional applications to log into VK, this information will also be displayed here.

You can see your IP address on the website 2ip.ru. If you suddenly see an unfamiliar IP in the list of recent activity, you can use the same site to check its location (just remember that this address may change if you use different devices and different access points to connect). Creating and adding a story to a page on VKontakte

How to delete VK history

If the user does not want to look at other people's stories, then he can turn off notifications coming from a specific account. The process of completing the task can be divided into several points:

Launch the VK mobile application.
Tap on the desired story.
Click on the profile icon at the top of the window that appears.
Now you can get to the page of the user who recorded this story. Most likely, he is among your friends.
There will be several actions presented at the top of your profile. In this situation, you will need to click on the word “Notifications”.
In the context menu, click on the line “Do not notify about broadcasts.” After this, the history of this account will not be displayed in your profile.

To delete your own previously created history, the user will need to hold down the entry icon for a few seconds, and then in the context menu click on the Delete history line, next to which the trash can icon will be displayed.

If you want to uninstall VK history through a browser, then you will need to right-click on it, and then in the context-type window also click on the “Delete history” line.

What is an archive of stories on the VKontakte social network?

The new feature in VK “Story Archive” will now store all your video publications that you posted after May 28, 2021. Here you can even find those that you deleted. They are available only to you. Therefore, there is no need to worry that someone will be able to access posts that have already been deleted. You will be able to delete your Stories from your personal archive. But you cannot transfer them to the LAN.
