SMS - what is it
The abbreviation SMS is translated from English as “short notification service”. This is the name of the technological method of distributing a short text via a mobile communication device. A special feature of the technology is that it eliminates the load on the network. The SMS delivery speed does not exceed 10 seconds. The sending user sees a notification that the message was successfully delivered.
In modern smartphones, correspondence looks like comic texts in beautiful “clouds”. Reading them is convenient and aesthetically pleasing.
The system allows you to send messages to a smartphone that is not working or is outside the network activity zone. In this case, the forwarding is completed when the recipient enters the network. It is possible to send a letter to a subscriber who is engaged in a telephone conversation.

How to send an SMS message
In general, the technology for sending SMS is the same for all smartphones. There are minor differences and nuances for Android and iPhone devices.
Android
To send SMS, find the Messages icon in the main menu. Usually in Android it looks like an envelope.
Opening the message window:
- Enter your address. You can find the desired recipient in the list of contacts, or you can simply enter the mobile number in the “To” address bar. In the first case, enter “Contacts”, select the recipient, open the contact, set the action “Send SMS”. In the second case, the smartphone automatically offers options from which you select the required one.
- Write the text in the message field where the cursor is. On smartphones, the virtual keyboard appears automatically.
- After completing the letter, click the “Send” command.
iPhone
To send SMS, find the Messages shortcut in the menu. On Apple smartphones, it usually looks like a cloud, which is what phrases in comics represent.
A message window will open in which:
- Enter the recipient's number. Or select the desired person from the contact list.
- Write what you want in the text field using the virtual keyboard. On iPhone, you can also click on the microphone icon, then you will be able to send a voice message.
- Send an SMS by clicking the appropriate command.
On smartphones, the dialog box immediately shows that the interlocutor is typing a response message: a corresponding icon appears in the form of a writing pencil or something similar. To send an MMS, that is, a photo or video, on your Apple smartphone, find the Camera option by clicking on the plus icon on the left side of the text field. On other devices, the function may be called Send Picture or something similar. You can send both a gallery photo and one you just took.
Pros and cons of direct mailing
Among the advantages, the following points can be particularly highlighted:
- relatively low price: on average, services charge about 700-800 rubles per month for mailing;
- correctly composed text will help increase customer loyalty to your account;
- Using the newsletter, you can filter users by reaching the target audience;
- Apart from text, there is no need to create additional content;
- A welcome message will allow the client to quickly learn about promotions and prices, and, accordingly, make a purchase faster.
Flaws:
- a bad text can ruin all your efforts to design and select an audience for your newsletter;
- if you use the same message for a long time, users will immediately add your messages to spam;
- you need to keep a very fine line between an unobtrusive call to make a purchase and direct demands to buy something. The latter will immediately scare away any client.
How to open a correspondence with a subscriber
In modern smartphones, viewing previously created SMS is easier than ever. Enter the Messages menu, all correspondence is there. You can simply open the Notification Center: move your finger across the screen from top to bottom so that the corresponding “curtain” appears. Select the desired message, click on it to open a correspondence window in which you can write a response. If you swipe the SMS to the side with your finger, the document will be deleted.

1.1 Add an image
Using a beautiful promotional photo, you can attract your friend's friends to various communities. It’s better, of course, to ask in advance, and not litter on someone else’s wall and add some phrase from the series: “How do you like my advertising post?” or something like that, so that you don’t feel like you’re on the page just to promote yourself.
So, hover over the Photo button.

Select photos or upload a new one.
You can add some text or send it as is.
Fill out the message and send.
1.2 Adding a video
If you want to upload a video from your own recordings or from those on VKontakte, then select “Video recording” in the icon bar.
At the top there is a video search menu on the VKontakte social network itself, and just below are the videos you have downloaded.

First, remember the name of the video that you found and want to attach to a message to a friend.
Although there is another option. This way you can add videos from YouTube, RuTube and some other video services. Check. Copy the link from the site.
Copy the link from the desired YouTube video.
And paste it into the text field. The video will be added automatically. If that doesn't work, try reloading the page. Sometimes it doesn't work the first time.
Paste the copied link, the video will load automatically.
The link itself can be removed after the video is added. Click send.
Remove the link and submit for publication.

1.3 Attach a link to the site
By the way, you can also act with other links, for example, to the site. Just enter the URL and wait a few seconds. Then choose a photo. They are collected from the site itself. Use the arrows to select.

1.4 Attach audio recording and music
You can also add audio recordings from the VKontakte social network or by first uploading them to the “My Audio Recordings” section.

Graffiti is a drawing that can be drawn using an application vaguely reminiscent of Paint.

1.6 Attaching documents
You can also leave documents for downloading on a friend’s wall, keep in mind that other users will be able to see and take them!

1.7 Add a map
Great for showing locations such as an upcoming meeting, event or store. Just enter the city or specific address into the search line.
