What does the VKontakte feed consist of?

How to disable automatic playback of GIF animations

I don’t argue that GIF pictures (those that move) can be very interesting. They attract attention. That’s why advertisers love GIFs. But I prefer that only those files that I launch myself are played. You too?

In the new VKontakte feed, all animated images are by default

made large and “self-playing”. That is, they do not require activation by clicking the mouse. And the feed may suddenly start showing a mini-video.

If you are not happy with this situation, you need to disable autoplay of GIF animation. This is done simply:

1. Open settings, go to the “Applications” section.
2. Find the VKontakte client in the list. Open its properties.
3. Click "Uninstall" and wait until the uninstallation process completes.

When deleting a client, user data will not be affected, since it is posted on the VK website, and the application is only one way to use the account.

Finding and installing the old version

Only the latest version of the client is available on the Play Market, so there is no point in downloading the application from there. Old versions can be found on forums and specialized sites. 2. Replicate the post format that gets the most likes and views. The greater the reach and response, the more such content should be produced. Analyze the audience you work with: age, preferences, and based on this, develop a content plan.
3. Take care of the design. Now it is preferable to add horizontally oriented images with a width of over 700 pixels. Add top hashtags - they also increase your ranking.
4. Open comments. Avoiding “shit” in comments is irrelevant: the number of comments (as opposed to quality) raises posts in the feed.
5. Post regularly with an eye toward quality rather than quantity. Frequent posting will not help you get to the top; the way the smart feed works with this approach will reduce the overall reach. It is optimal to post new posts once every 2-3 hours, so that users have time to look and react.
6. Use promotional tools. What happens is this: if the group is young and just starting to develop, the number of subscribers is small and the coverage rates are low. In order for a post to be shown higher in the smart feed, it must be seen and appreciated by as many people as possible. Dead end. Don’t be upset, no one canceled the target and paid advertising entries, which means the conversion can be improved.

How to clean everything at once

As mentioned above, the built-in VK tools do not allow you to remove posts literally in batches - only one at a time. It's one thing if there are several dozen records. What if there are hundreds or even thousands of them? This will take a very long time.

The solution to the issue is to implement a special script (read the article for more details on how to delete all posts on the wall of a VK group). Here's what you'll need to do:

• go to the group and scroll the wall as low as possible, ideally to the very beginning;

How do I include current photos?

Go to your page and go to the “My News” section.

Hide your entries

To prevent your friends and subscribers from showing yours in the news feed, for example, that you added a photo, tagged a person, etc., do the following.

On your page, click on the arrow near the thumbnail at the top right and select “Settings” from the menu.

In the next window, in the menu on the right, go to the “Privacy” tab. Scroll down the page and in the “Other” section, opposite the item “What updates do my friends see in the news,” you need to select “No updates.”

In the old version of VKontakte, this item was in the list, but after updating the social network, it was no longer there. In order for it to appear, you need to do the following. Select “Partition updates” from the list and check the box next to any item. Then click anywhere in the window to close the list.

Now click on “Partition updates” again and uncheck the box that you checked. After this, the item “No updates” will appear in the field we need. Close the list and exit the settings, all changes will be saved automatically.

Don’t worry, everything that you do on VKontakte: add people as friends, make reposts, leave notes, will not be shown in the feed of your friends and those users who subscribe to your page.

How to delete your browser activity list

• on the right, find the field labeled “Search” and enter the link to the site vk.com there;
• in the list of results obtained, hover the cursor over the desired inscription and click on the arrow;
• select "Delete from history".

Opera

• call the “History” page through the menu or by pressing Ctrl+H;

• in this tab, work with general visit activity or enter vk.com (or another site) into the search bar on the right;

• When you hover the cursor over the result, a cross will appear to the right of it, which can be used to delete it.

Where do current photos come from?

The tool analyzes all the photos you have viewed - on friends’ pages, in public pages and groups (see). It is based on photographs, based on the number of likes and reposts (see also). As a result, we get a list of popular photos, which are displayed in the “Current photos” block.

With this tool, you can always see the best photos that have recently been published on pages that you find interesting and often visit.

Please note that the feed of current photos will be available if you have not visited your page in the last two hours (see). After viewing it, it is removed from the feed until a fresh list is generated.
