• Log in to your page.

1. Copy characters from the address bar of the desired source.
2. Follow the link https://vk.com/cc.
3. Paste the copied line into the special field.
4. Click Reduce.

If you've created a conversation and want to invite friends to it, here's what you need to do:

Changing page id

Any member of the social network can change their numerical ID. To do this you need:

• Open profile.
• Go to settings.
• Find the line “Page Address”. To the right of it, click the “Edit” link.

• Enter the word in Latin letters or other numbers.
• If this combination of characters is already taken, the system will prompt you with the message “Address is already taken.” Unsupported characters will result in an "Invalid Format" notification. If everything is in order, the blue button at the bottom with the inscription “Occupy address” will become active. You need to click on it.

Reference. The page ID does not need to be remembered or written down in order to return the previous address if necessary. It will remain in the links leading to the user’s photos or posts. In addition, the numeric identifier will remain in the settings in the same place where it was changed. The line is called “Page Number”.

You can get your ID back using a similar algorithm. In the address you will need to add the letters “id” and copy the numbers from the “Page number” line.

A few words about Instagram

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to replace the link to Instagram with text in VK. This is due to the policies of the administration of these two social networks. Of course, you can copy the URLs of pages and publications and share them. But it is impossible to change their appearance. Just like you won’t be able to log into Instagram via VKontakte.

How can I find a community using its link?

Some users have a question: how to find a group given its URL (word or value)?

For browsers, the answer to this question is very simple. Just paste it into the address bar and press Enter.

But users of the mobile application may encounter some difficulties. After all, there is no address bar in the application and there is nowhere to insert a link. If you try to enter it into the search, nothing will be found. What to do?

This is where you have to get more sophisticated. We can do it in two ways:

1. Use a mobile browser. Any device (be it Android or iOS) has a native browser that cannot be deleted.
2. Send a link to someone in a conversation (you can send it to yourself) and then click on it.

Any of the methods will help you find the public. We advise you to subscribe to it so as not to encounter such a problem in the future.

What are links for?

For example, you found an interesting public page about food, which has a bunch of useful recipes and tips that your friend needs so much. It will be difficult to explain to him how to find this public page, what it is called, etc. But sending an address is a matter of a couple of clicks.

The thing is that the link of each community is its unique URL. They cannot be repeated. In other words, this is a kind of identifier that helps the computer distinguish between groups.

To access a public page, you need to enter its URL into the address bar of your browser. In fact, it seems to you that this is not so - you do not enter anything. But this happens automatically every time you go to a particular page.

When creating a VKontakte community, by default it is assigned an ID (word or value), which is an alphanumeric value.

The literal ID value for groups and public pages is different:

• For groups: club1234567;
• For public pages: public1234567.

The full URLs are: https://vk.com/club1234567 and https://vk.com/public1234567 respectively.

An alternative option for creating a link to a specific user's account

Perhaps the instructions described above seemed unnecessarily complicated to you. Okay, there is a simpler scenario, and it does not require writing BB codes. True, in another situation, the text contained in the hyperlink will be of the same type and represents the first and last name of the person you need. That is, we don’t need square brackets in this situation either.

But we need other symbols - the dog sign (@) and the asterisk *. You can easily find them in the same way on your keyboard. After specifying one of the characters, we do not use a space, but immediately write the first and last name, or select from the drop-down list the one we need, or indicate a short address (page ID).

It is enough to enter one of the described symbols and the social network will prompt us for further actions in the form of the phrase “Start entering the name of a friend or the name of a community.”

After you select the option you need, you will see the required design in the cell intended for entering text. Next, look for the “Send” button on the wall and click on it. What happens next? The design we have created will automatically take the form of a hyperlink containing an anchor.

And it will be the first and last name or the name of the public for which the “hot” link was created. As you can see, the result is approximately the same as what we got when using BB codes.

Where can I find the link?

For users on VKontakte via a browser (be it a PC or a mobile browser), it will not be difficult to find a link to any community.

You can find their URLs in your browser's address bar (at the top of the screen).

If you are an admin or the creator of a group, then you can also go to the “Community Management” section and find the “Page Address” item there.

For mobile app users (on Android and iOS), things are a little more complicated. The fact is that the application does not have address bars, and therefore the link cannot be found there. But you can immediately copy it to the clipboard (read more about this below).
