It is easy to use, plays videos well, and can be integrated into any website.
Probably everyone has already noticed that previously on VKontakte you could only upload videos from your computer. Today, everything can be downloaded from any external sources. But if you look, probably 90% of all video clips on VK are played through the YouTube player. That's why I decided to raise this topic. Moreover, you do not need any programs.
My videos
If you want to upload a video to yourself, then to do this you need to take literally a couple of steps.
- Go to the “Videos” item and click on the “Add video” button.
- After that, select “Add from another site” in the window that opens. A new window should open for you with a line to enter your address.
- Well, the rest couldn’t be simpler. Just copy the video address from the address bar from YouTube and paste it into the same open VKontakte window.
- You will immediately see the name of the clip itself, as well as its description. Therefore, it is very convenient to add videos from YouTube to VK. Well, then click on OK and enjoy the video that we now have in our video recordings.
Share links to VK on YouTube
There are several ways to share a link to a VKontakte profile or public page on YouTube:
- through the channel description;
- in a hat;
- in the abstract;
- integrated into the video.
Each option carries with it a specific course of action.
In the profile header
How can you add a link to VK on YouTube - the user goes to the “About Channel” category, and then clicks on “Links”:

The adding process is carried out according to the ordering rule of links. First of all, the user must specify exactly the one that will subsequently be displayed accompanied by an icon with a text message. As a rule, many people indicate a personal public page on VK or a profile to sign up for a subscription.
Other links can lead the audience to other social networks, for example, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Often a link is set to another YouTube channel.

At the end, all that remains is to press the “Finish” button and check the results. You can make edits if necessary.

If no corrections are required, you should leave everything as is, otherwise, repeat the procedure and make the appropriate adjustments.

How to add a video to a group or public
In order to watch the video in your community, you will have to do approximately the same thing, with the exception of a couple of nuances.
- We go to a public page or group where you are an administrator, a moderator, or you simply have access rights to add videos. Go to Videos.
- On the page that opens, click on the “Add video” button.
- The next step is to select “Add video from another site.” We are specifically interested in YouTube, so we copy the link to the video that we are adding to the group and paste it into the appropriate field.
- After this, the video will be loaded and the title and description will be automatically added. But you can easily change it by simply deleting the old one or adding more text. In addition, if you check the “Publish in page news” checkbox, the post will appear on the public wall.
How to delete a video from VK
It may also happen that you need to delete the video. Then you need to go to the video and click on the cross on top. This way, videos can be deleted from video albums. If the video is located on the wall, then you need to remove the recording from the wall. It is not possible to completely delete an entire video album at once; you can only delete each video individually.

And of course, no one canceled reposting the video on their wall. If you want the video to appear on your wall and appear in the news of your friends and subscribers, then do the following.
- Log into YouTube to the clip that you want to take for yourself and click on the “Share” button under it, then select the icon VK.
- And then you just need to choose the audience that will see your action. Well, you can add something as a comment, then click “Send”.
Now go to VKontakte and see for yourself that now on your wall there is a video recording that you need. Beauty!
How to make a link to a YouTube channel
If a special notification appears on the settings page, and a letter about compliance with the requirements is received in your mailbox, you can make a beautiful link to the YouTube channel. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to your profile.
- Go to additional settings or click on your account photo at the top right.
- Go to the Settings section, and there Channel Status.
- In the Settings section, information appears that you can make a link yourself. Click on the URL provided.
- Enter the Custom URL section.
- Make changes.
- Read the terms of use and agree to them.
- Double-check that you are happy with the YouTube channel URL.

- Next, we go into contact and select a dialogue with a friend to whom we are going to send the recording. After that, paste the copied link, which is immediately converted into the desired video.
Adding video from your phone and other mobile devices
Well, let’s not forget about users of mobile devices, since a phone is a second life, and no fewer transactions are performed from it than from a computer.
- Go to the youtube application on your Android smartphone or iPhone and look for the video you like.
- Click on the arrow icon. This is the share button. We have two options: either select VKontakte, or simply copy the link. No, of course there are more options, but we are interested in these two.
- If we choose VKontakte, we will be offered two options to choose from: send to the wall or in a message. Choose what you prefer.
- And if we have chosen a link, then we can paste it anywhere: into a post on the wall, into a message, into a group, etc. Here the procedure is similar to what we discussed above.
Why do you need to add videos from YouTube?
Many people don’t even imagine what the point is in downloading links from YouTube if VKontakte has its own video player with the ability to download. Let's figure it out:
- Simplicity and convenience. Imagine that you are trying to upload a large video to VK. If your speed is low, you will have to wait quite a long time until this process is completed. And if you do not have unlimited Internet, then the traffic will disappear instantly. And in this way you do not waste any time or traffic. The main thing is that the video is not removed from YouTube itself.
- Quick view. No matter how cool the social network VK is, the videos on it load simply disgustingly, even with high-speed Internet. And YouTube videos play just great. There are practically no complaints about them.
- Promotion. If you are a blogger or businessman, then it is in your interests that you promote yourself better and faster. Why is it better to upload videos to YouTube rather than to your website?
I'm sure many people have a question: how to add a video that is on the computer , but is not on the Internet? There are 2 options here:

- Upload to YouTube.
The first option is only suitable if the video is secret and not intended for the general public. If this is not the case, don’t rack your brains and use the second method! Why, you ask.
