How to add a main photo to your profile picture

Adding photos to VK from a computer

Let's assume that we already have a prepared photo. Let's see how to upload it to contact.

The simplest option. Go to the “My Photos” section and click “Add new photos”.

Windows Explorer will open. Here you will need to find the photo you need, select it, and click the “Open” button.

The photo will be uploaded and you will be presented with the initial editing tool.

What can we do here?

First, fill out the description. This information will be shown just below the photo when you view it.

If you select the "Place in Album" option, a drop-down list will appear in which you will need to select the appropriate option.

If you want to use the “Publish to Album” item, a special form will appear. In it you can select an existing album, or create a new one. Privacy settings will also be available for contact users who will view this photo.

When you fill out all the fields, click the “Submit” button.

The easiest option is to immediately click the “Publish on my page” button.

How to add a photo to an album

Go to your page and click on the link “My photos”:

The next thing you need to do is indicate whether to post a note on your behalf or on behalf of the community. This is only your wish, the last word here remains with the administrator. When everything is ready, click “For moderation”.

In some communities, participants cannot create their own topics, so the fields, as described above, cannot be found. Therefore, let's look at how you can upload an image to one of the albums.

In the small menu under the name of the community, click on the “Photo” item.

Now select the album you want to add something to and click on it.

There is also a small nuance here. If there is a padlock next to the name, then only the administration can add anything to it.

Participants are most often allowed to add images to those albums on which the competition is based, or where they can share something “of their own.” Therefore, we select another from the list.

There will be an “Add” button at the top, click on it.

Now select the desired image on your computer, select it with the mouse and click on the “Open” button.

The photo will be uploaded. Below it you will see a pencil and a field in which you can add a description.

Adding photos to the wall

Directly on the wall, place the mouse cursor on the input field and click on the camera icon in the upper right corner, or click on the “Attach” link and select “Photo” from the drop-down menu:

How to add a photo from your VKontakte phone
